Gift of Life

Deep in the Amazonian Rainforests of Ecuador, the trees are the foundation of local life. The local Kichwa culture is working hard to stop the destruction of their rainforests. They have been working hard to create sustainable practices and tourism in the area. As I looked up at this enormous tree our guide told me, “This tree is as important to us as our own families. If feeds the ground, gives shelter to the animals, and fills our chest. We would have nothing if we didn’t have these trees.” Local grassroots conservation can be the most powerful tool to helping save our planets most delicate ecosystems.
