AAZK San Diego values the extraordinary efforts many conservation organizations have taken upon themselves. We are proud to highlight their activities and bring awareness to their programs.
We invite you to visit the following organization’s website and become involved in their work.
AAZK, Inc.: The American Association of Zoo Keepers is a membership association for animal care professionals to exchange information and network with one another. The mission of The American Association of Zoo Keepers is to advance excellence in the animal keeping profession, foster effective communication beneficial to animal care, support deserving conservation projects, and promote the preservation of our natural resources and animal life.
Action for Cheetahs in Kenya: Action for Cheetahs in Kenya (ACK) is a long-term project that was initiated through support from the Cheetah Conservation Fund in affiliation with the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS). ACK is a recipient of AAZK’s annual Bowling for Rhinos fundraising event.
Fishing Cat Conservancy: the FCC is dedicated to protecting fishing cats and their mangrove habitat through community based research and conservation. Thank you Ashwin Naidu, President and Co-Founder of FCC, and Amber Wong, FCC Executive Assistant, for their recent visit to San Diego and their insightful presentation to the AAZK San Diego members!
International Rhino Foundation: For 25 years, the International Rhino Foundation has championed the survival of the world’s rhinos through conservation and research. We do what it takes to ensure that rhinos survive for future generations. IRF is a recipient of AAZK’s annual Bowling for Rhinos fundraising event.
Lewa Wildlife Conservancy: The Lewa Wildlife Conservancy works as a model and catalyst for the conservation of wildlife and its habitat. It does this through the protection and management of species, the initiation and support of community conservation and development programs, and the education of neighboring areas in the value of wildlife. For local communities, Lewa represents much more than the wildlife it protects. Lewa is a recipient of AAZK’s annual Bowling for Rhinos fundraising event.
