With an estimated two rhinoceros dying every day, the conservation of these animals is critical. Rhino horns have been thought to treat disease, but like our fingernails and hair, they are made of keratin. Education, anti-poaching, and habitat protection are key to ensuring the survival of this species, as well as the continued success of youngsters being born through captive breeding programs around the world.
