This Waterbuck enjoyed a day basking in the sun near a water hole in Kruger National Park, South Africa. While they are listed as being of “Least Concern” on the IUCN Red List, Waterbuck have been eliminated from many areas within their former range. They face threats of hunting, the loss of suitable habitat, and competition with cattle for grazing. Several populations have experienced steep declines.
