The Osprey, known also as a fish eagle or fish hawk is found on every continent except Antarctica. The female differs from the male due to the brown “necklace” of feathers that appear around her neck. The male is smaller than the female, as with most birds of prey. This wonderful bird and very clever fisherman has been living at the Dana Point harbor where I have photographed him stealing easy meals from the local fisherman as they reel in their catch.
