golf fijiFiji Iguanas, part of the Fijian Iguana Conservation Fund at the San Diego Zoo Global, are in urgent need of our help. The Fiji iguana is currently listed as ‘Endangered’ by the International Union for Conservation (IUCN), due to habitat loss and the existence of almost identical looking invasive species. Many locals mistakenly kill Fiji iguanas believing they are completely different species. Funds raised will benefit genetic research of several new species recently identified on various islands throughout Fiji. Genetic research helps identify markers in iguanas to highlight their unique genotype, which is used to examine the genetic diversity within and between species and to also look for hybrids.

Sumatra’s precious wildlife, both flora and fauna, are threatened by illegal logging, palm oil and rubber development, road construction and poaching. Key species such as the Sumatran tiger, Sumatran elephant, Sumatran orangutan, and green sea turtle, are a few of many threatened animals in this region. Funds raised will help purchase land in the Bukit Tigapuluh ecosystem of Central Sumatra, Indonesia. One acre can be purchased for $6.83/acres. If enough land is purchased, the reserve will consist of three protected areas within the forest ecosystem that will conserve 200,396 acres.golf
